Russia's Solar Target is 1.56GW in 2020

Russia and Greece held on Renewable Energy Forum this week, the Russian official energy sector and the Greek Renewable Energy Center signed a memorandum of cooperation, they will work together to develop renewable energy. At the same time, Russia also announced that the 2020 targets for solar installation is 1.56GW.

PVMagazine reported that Russia's current installed capacity is only 60MW of solar energy, but the goal in 2020 improve the amount of solar installations up to 1.56GW. Domestic considerations progressive development of the market, by 2019 demand 1.1GW installed capacity, in order to catch up with the target. Russia will be 0.5% of electricity from solar energy. It’s good for portable solar power generator market.

Alexander Pates Russia local EPC industry Solar Energy Holding international business development director at the forum, said that retail electricity and the amount of demand mechanisms in Russia pending further improvement; because Russia is still not on solar and other renewable energy power to launch a reliable legal basis, this desire for the development of renewable energy in Russia, it need to step up the pace of a ring. 

The availability of reliable investment returns,which is the main risks of renewable energy development in Russia, Pates called on policy makers to consider this issue in detail, in order to shape the development of environment-friendly renewable energy.

According to the Russian wholesale purchase of existing programs, the use of subsidies for wholesale purchase locally produced parts of the solar system, it is three times the wholesale purchase of subsidized products overseas production of the construction of the solar system; but this program actually limited for economic success. 

Solar Energy Holding is currently taking and overseas companies set up joint ventures in Russia, promoting the production line approach to the operation of local markets. Another Russian company Hevel Solar, said the company will be the assembly production line expansion to 200MW this year, will start to develop HJT hetero junction technology.
